Steve first began his work in the mobile food industry in April of 2014. Back in his home state of Connecticut, he managed a trailer serving traditional American comfort foods: hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, wraps, fries, and more. Wanting more than a average food trailer, the corned beef idea was born! The Get Your “IRISH” On business opened six months later (October 2014), and Steve put the best corned beef you’ve ever had on everything. All of the GYIO corned beef is lean and shaved to ensure that every sandwich that goes out the window is perfect.
In April of 2018, Get Your “IRISH” On moved to the streets of Boston to bring the corned beef to the people there. Steve has made some changes to the menu, but still uses the best available ingredients on all his dishes. Steve likes to remind his customers of his devotion to delicious, quality meals. “There’s nothing I serve that I wouldn’t eat myself,” he says, before cracking a smile and telling you to grab a napkin― you're going to need it! Get Your “IRISH” On serves a lot of beef, but no bull.
History of the Bus
The Get Your “IRISH” On bus is a 25-foot 2008 International school bus and was originally part of the fleet operated by the City of Boston. Steve refitted and customized the entire bus to meet complete portable commercial kitchen standards, installing appliances and prep spaces within the 16-foot interior. The exterior is wrapped in a vibrant kelly green and orange design. You can spot all those shamrocks and leprechauns from a mile away (or so we’ve been told).
